DP-01: Clip Art and Fonts If you are getting clip art for use with a program, such as WordPerfect or Publish It, check your program's manual to see what graphic formats the program will accept. EPS Clip Art $0 These disks contain a wide variety of high quality EPS graphic files. Each disk will un-archive to around 800K, so a hard disk or high density floppy is required. These are small drawings sized for use with graphical label printing programs like Avery Label Pro and for other applications where small images are appropriate. The PsL Clip Art Collection Compilation Copyright 1991 PsL $0 The disks in the table below contain clip art in Encapsulated PostScript format, in PCX format, in WordPerfect 5.0 format, and in Corel Draw format. The clip art on disks 1709+ and 1823+ are still available, but are generally of a much lower quality or lower resolution. If you are not using a laser printer, you may still find those files to be quite acceptable. The EPS format results in the highest quality pictures. They require a PostScript printer or a program (such as GoScript) that will print PostScript files on non-PostScript printers. PostScript files may be imported into major desktop publishing programs such as Ventura. The PCX files are stored in full-page 300 dpi resolution. PCX art files can be imported into virtually all desktop publishing and graphics programs. In bit-mapped graphics such as the PCX format, loss of resolution occurs when small images are enlarged. By starting with full-page size, you can scale down the images to smaller sizes with little or no loss in resolution. While there are many disks of PCX files available, only a minority of them are high-quality, high-resolution, general-purpose art work. NOTICE: Users of Publish It! should be aware that PI! is not able to import many of these PCX files. This is a known limitation of PI! and one which Timeworks expects to correct in their next release. An alternative is that Timeworks sells a graphics file conversion utility for about $15. The WP5 files are ready for loading directly into WordPerfect version 5.0 and later. The CDR files are necessary for Corel Draw users because Corel cannot read the very same EPS files that it has exported. (Corel was used to create or clean up many of the EPS files.) The images on this disk were scanned at 300 dpi from old, non-copyrighted material. The categories of art on the disk include Myths and Fantasy, Flowers, Music and Romance, Ships, Serpents, Fish, and Whales, Weaponry and Military Insignia, Birds and Reptiles, Animals, Air, and Ground Transportation. PFS:First Publisher Graphics and Templates Green, David R. $10 #3992 is a collection of graphics and templates for First Publisher and Logitech Publisher. Over 800 Graphics images and 19 templates are included. Graphics include computers, drafting PCB, electronic schematic components, flags, frames, icons, logos, modern art, music symbols, and musical instruments. Templates include 3D backdrops, clipboard, contract, FAX, invoices, MIDI sheets, music sheets, parts lists, pinup, scroll, cassette and disk sleeves, and studio recording sheets. Requires PFS:First Publisher or Logitech Publisher or a program that support MAC picture files. PCC/PCX Graphics Various $? #27425/1823 [3 disks] is a collection of graphics files in the .PCC/.PCX format. These are the most widely acceptable graphics formats on the PC. These files can be used by programs like PC-Paintbrush, PFS:First Publisher, Publish It!, and even Ventura Publisher. These three disks contain hundreds of files. Each disk has over 700k of files compressed onto it. While there are a few high-resolution graphics that will look very good on laser, most of these files are better suited for printing with dot matrix printers. PrintMaster Graphics $0 #27473/1213 is a disk of artwork for the Printmaster program. PrintMaster+ Graphics #2 $0 #27473/1825 is a collection of more art files for PrintMaster+. There are over 400k of files compressed onto this one disk. PrintShop Graphics Various $0 #1824 is a collection of graphics files for PrintShop. There are over 400k of files compressed onto this one disk. NOTE: These files only work with the old version of PrintShop, and are not compatible with the New PrintShop without being converted. New Print Shop Graphics Cooper Graphics $6-$60 #20111-20112 are two volumes each containing 2000 graphics files in New Print Shop format. Set #1 (#20111) contains Borders, Signs, Faces, U.S. State Flags, U.S. States, International Flags, Astrological Signs, Birds, Holidays, and much more. Set# 2 (#20112) contains Science/Electronics, Transportation, Halloween/Christmas, Sports, Animals, and many others. Each set is available on five 360k disks or one 1.44MB disk for $6.99/set. -------------------------------- #2603 GIF Clip Art and Utilities Small Programs Disk -------------------------------- GIF is the Graphic Interface Format - a standard started by CompuServe that allows easy exchange of graphics among computers of different operating systems (eg: Macs and PCs). It also provides maximum compression for faster transfer and loading times and minimum disk space usage. In fact, archiving these files uses more disk space than not archiving them! CropGIF 1.3 Alchemy Mindworks, Inc. $35 allows you to crop fragments from existing large GIF files and write them to new smaller files. It works like the cut and paste functions of a paint program, and a Mircosoft compatible mouse is required. EMS is supported. CVTGIF 1.5 Bridges, John $0 converts PIC and PCX files to GIF format. GIF2WPG 3.6a Hinkle, William J. $10 converts GIF files to a Word Perfect Graphic file. GIFPCX 3.6 Hinkle, William J. $10 translates GIF to PCX files. GIFToPS Hemphill, Scott $0 is C source code for converting GIF files to PostScript. Baxter is a color, photo-like picture of an attractive lady. Bus## is a set of six business related drawings. Other drawings on this disk include a dove, Garfield, a music keyboard icon, a candelabra (MANOR), a musical note, "PigOut", children sleeping, a football, and Uncle Sam. -------------------------------- END OF SMALL PROGRAMS DISK #2603 -------------------------------- ArtPak Sampler Shockey, Wayne and Watts, Larry $20 #2796 is a collection of clip art. It includes page borders and accents in CGM and WMF formats; symbols in CGA, WMF, PCX and TIF; headlines in CGM; and general clip art, including credit card symbols, in PCX and TIF formats. The files can be used with Pagemaker, Ventura, WordPerfect, etc. WordPerfect macros are included to aid beginning users in adding clip art to their documents. BCM Graphics #1 BCM Graphics $10 #4166 is a clip art disk of religion, people, things and travel in PCX format. BCM Borders, Corners & Frames BCM Graphics $15/disk #27752/4317 [3 disks] is a three disk set of PCX clip art. One disk contains decorative page borders. The second disk has elaborate corners, for when you do not want a complete border. The third disk features smaller frames of about a quarter-page in size (though you can scale them to other sizes). Most of the art is of an ornate style with flowers and birds. BCM Borders, Corners & Frames II [BCMGRAPH] BCM Graphics $15 #20239 [3 disks] (09-93 CD) is a set of 45 PCX graphics. It includes a selection for just about any type of card, newsletter, invitation, or announcement. It has full length borders, and 1/2 size borders for your cards, memos, small notes, theater programs, etc. BCM Priceless People BCM Graphics $15 #20048 [3 disks] is a collection of 45 PCX clip-art files of people of various types and situations. BG-ART PCX Grubbs, Bob $10 #27536/3510 [4 disks] is a collection of religious, sports, food, and office clip art in PCX and IMG graphic format. A limited version of Compushow (a graphic viewing program) is included with this package. BG-ART-2 Grubbs, Bob $15 #27426/2014 [2 disks] is a large set of religious and holiday pictures in IMG format which can be used by Publish-It! (and PI Lite), Word Perfect 5.0, Ventura and others. These are original drawings by Grubbs. BG-Art-3 Grubbs, Bob $15 #27427/2134 [2 disks] is a large set of religious and holiday pictures for use with First Publisher. Bookplates I Shur, Allen $10-$14 #3991 contains 14 PCX graphic files that were scanned from old bookplates. Some of the images are from bookplates that are several hundred years old. You can easily customize the files to personalize them for your own books, as well as for any other DTP use. The files take 800k of disk space unarchived. Camera Clipart $0 #2928 is a collection of 43 Camera images from the early 1800s. The files are in Mac format. Christmas Magic BCM Graphics $15 #27791/4475 [2 disks] is a set of PCX clip art with a Christmas theme. (Why wait till the last minute?) The first disk contains 25 general Christmas graphics, with whimsical Santas, elves, Christmas trees, etc. Disk #2 contains 20 religious graphics. Designer's Choice Sampler M R Graphics and Dover Publications $0 #2205 is a sampler of a commercial clip art in PCX format. It contains 10 holiday clip art files and 10 business related files of clip art. This is very high quality art in 300 dpi resolution. Football Helmets Washburn, John $3 #3809 is a set of clip-art of all the NFL team helmets in both .PCX and .ART formats. FP-Maps Volume I Button, Conrad $10 #1778 is a library of high resolution maps for use with PFS:First Publisher. Areas covered include Alaska, Antarctica, Australia, Central America, Canada, Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico, North America, Polar regions, and South America. These maps were specially resized to be proportionally correct when used with PFS:FP. A scale is included on all maps. Gibson Girls $0 #2476 is a set of PCX files of the Gibson Girls. These drawings can be used with any program that will import PCX files. GeoClips Sampler Set 1 Global Softworks $0 #3912 is high quality clip art for GeoWorks. Requires over 1.6 meg of hard disk space. Graphic Clip Arts McCall, Katherine $0 #2477 is a set of clip-art files in IMG format. Included are Bar-Taxi, CD-Music, Fly-Letr, Good-Mrn, I-MustDo, NewsWrld, Pain-L-S, and Scrols-T. Grin Graphics Volume #1 1.1 The Grin Graphics Company $17-$20 #27347/2870 [2 disks] contains over 150 graphic images of humorous art in PCX format. Images include people, animals, bugs, and different situations. Requires a hard disk. Grin Graphics Volume #2 The Grin Graphics Company $17-$20 #20100 [2 disks] contains over 234 graphic images of humorous art in PCX format. Images include people, animals, bugs, and different situations. Requires a hard disk. Hoffman PCX Graphics Hoffman, George $6/disk #3728 contains dozens (over 600k unarchived) of very high quality black-and-white PCX graphics for use in desktop publishing. Images include banners, headlines, weddings, people, food, and much more. Holidays $0 #2797 is a set of 22 high resolution clip art pictures for Christmas plus an additional set for Halloween. Unarchived these sets fill three 360k disks. KeyBoard Graphics CompuUtilize Services $10 #3511 contains PCX images of the tops of keys. These are ideal for use in computer software manuals and the PCX format insures compatibility with the broadest range of DTP-related programs. Kids Watts, John D. $0 #3288 is a set of 48 images in PCX format of children in their typical daily "routines". Label Graphics Sampler [LGS] Cooper Graphics $6-$50 #12607 (11-93 CD) is a collection of clipart in PCX format. Images are included of animals, men at work, people, kids, flowers, logos, religion, Christmas, and vehicles. These graphics are ideal for use with low-end desktop publishing programs, or any program which uses small graphics in producing business cards, calendars, labels, name tags, etc. Maps PCX Volume I 1.2 Button, Conrad ASP $13 #3156 is a library of high resolution maps in PCX format. Areas covered include North America, Canada, Conus, Mexico, Central America, South America, Caribbean, Australia, Antarctica, Polar regions, South Pacific, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Commonwealth of Independent States, and Israel. Three global views of the Earth are also included. Medieval Clipart BBL Pty. Ltd. $0 #3512 includes 12 Medieval clipart files in PostScript (EPS) and CorelDraw (CDR) format. We have mixed emotions about offering this disk, as it appears to us to be too small a sampling to be useful. At least four of the images are ornate letters. On the other hand, the files can be used on their own. Unarchived, these files take over 900k of disk space. MEDSET1A: The Human Skeleton Ray Litman Photo Graphics ASP $19 #27820/4598 [3 disks] is 100 drawings of various parts of the human skeleton in CGM format which is a vector format supported by most modern word processing and dtp programs. Vector graphics can be resized and rotated with no loss of resolution. The quality of the drawings seems suitable for medical professionals, educators, etc. The files are also available in PCX format, but images are very large (none of them fit on a 1024x768 display), and they lost resolution when reduced in size, so they are not suitable for casual desktop publishing. (PCX format: #27821/4599 [3 disks]) MEDSET2A: Safety & Security - Signs & Symbols Ray Litman Photo Graphics ASP $19 #27820/4600 contains 100 drawings of OHSA, DOT, Universal Precautions and International signs used in the medical field, industrial and education in CGM format. Also available in PCX format (#27822/4601[3]). New Print Shop Library $0 #4079 is a library of over 800 pieces of clip art covering a wide variety of topics. New Print Shop is required. PCX-Demo Disk 1.0 [PCXDEMO] Speyside Software Enterprises $? #12456 (09-93 CD) is a collection of over 80 pieces of clipart in PCX format. It includes images of nature, machines, people, air, and objects. Ships Clip Art $0 #3362 contains 10 PCX graphics files of antique sailing and other ships. SoftScene Artwork Hornback, Stephen A. $10 #3087 is a set of 29 hand-drawn graphic pictures, mainly of outdoor scenes. The files are in PCX format. Sport2 $0 #2422 is a collection of sports and recreation clip art in PCX format. It includes 15 images of bowling, canoeing, sailing, scuba diving, tennis, golf, ping pong, skiing, sky diving, and more. Clip-Art Scandalous Technology $5 each #27159/1494-1496 [3 disks] The next three disks contain clip art in PC-Paintbrush PCC format suitable for use with PAGEMAKER, WORDPERFECT 5.0, and other programs that accept art in the PCC format. Each set of clip-art files was scanned at 300 dpi for excellent clarity and processed by hand to remove irregularities. STLTR1 (#1494) contains digitized ornate capital letters, in a face reminiscent of ITC Garamond on a floral surround typical of Fifteenth Century Italian or French initials. STLTR2 (#1495) contains digitized ornate capital letters, in a shadowed ornate Roman Serif face. The letters are interwoven into a pictorial background typical of Twelfth Century European initials. Note that letters F,G,J,Q,U, and W were not in the original set of masters and are not included. STCLIP & STDEC1 (#1496) - STCLIP contains 24 basic clip-art icons. STDEC1 contains 26 digitized decorative medallions. These medallions nicely set off stories or paragraphs and can be used to fill white space at the bottom of unbalanced columns. Stone Ballay, Sandi and Carl $0 #27159/1687 includes the stone cutter letters used in the original Ventura Publisher newsletter format which began shipping in March of 1987. Tools $0 #2518 is a set of 22 PCX files of old-fashioned, carpenter's tools as they might have appeared in a mail-order catalog circa 1900. A Touch of the Orient BCM Graphics $15 #20123 [2 disks] is a collection of 32 PCX graphics of Oriental culture. Type Studio Hecht, Joe C. $39 #1633 is a font generation package for Xerox Ventura Publisher when installed for PostScript Printers. It will allow you to create an endless supply of new and unique typefaces. You can expand type to fill a white space, save printing dollars with condensed type, outline faces with variable stroke widths, shade characters to any gray percentage, fill characters with a graduated screen, rotate both baselines and character origins, tilt, skew, slant or backslant, stroke characters with up to two shades, apply up to six levels of drop shadow characters, choice of generating screen fonts and automatically generate italic, bold and bold italics. Wood Clips Sampler 1 [WCLIP1] Jerry Stern, ASP $0 #12547 (10-93 CD) is a collection of graphics files for WordPerfect for DOS or Windows. ]]]]]
